CA$H mob Saturday in Auburndale

Here’s your chance to show your support for some local businesses.

At 10 a.m. on Saturday Nov. 10, the Newton-Needham Chamber will be holding a press conference in front of Just Next Door (327 Auburn St.) with Mayor Setti Warren and other public officials to announce the kick-off of the our brand new Shop Local for the Holidays campaign.

Immediately following the press conference all attendees will be encouraged to engage in a “cash mob.” Similar to “flash mobs,” a cash mob is an event where a group of people gather together but instead of singing a song or doing a dance, they agree to spend some money.

In this case, we’re inviting our participants to spend $10 at any Auburndale store, restaurant or service business as a show of support and appreciation for our local businesses.

Since this is a new idea, we have no idea how many people will attend. But our hope is this event will bring an influx of new and current customers to Auburndale businesses that morning and in the weeks and months to come.

Chamber volunteers and residents will be working the spread the word about our Nov. 10 “cash mob” We hope you’ll share the news of this event too and that you’ll join us in front of Just Next Store on Nov. 10 at 10 a.m.
