Shop local, dine local, bank local & arts local

By Greg Reibman, Chamber President

With the holiday season off to a robust start, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has already made the commitment to shop locally, dine locally and bank locally, this holiday season.

Spending locally keeps our village centers and shopping districts vibrant. It generates revenue for our schools, our police, our fire department and our roads. It helps create jobs for our friends, our neighbors and our kids. It encourages entrepreneurship. And it saves us gas, reducing our carbon footprint.

If you have not yet signed the Chamber’s Shop Local Shift Three Pledge yet, you can do so here or on our Facebook page.  Please also share these links – and the shop local message – with your colleagues, family and friends.   And if you have time to volunteer to help spread the word about the pledge by collecting signatures at an upcoming event, please give Karen Ficcardi or me a call at 617-799-0550.

I also want to call your attention to two upcoming shop local events happening: the Arts Stroll & Shop this Sunday Dec. 2 in Newton Center and our West Newton Ca$h Mob, next Saturday Dec. 8 at 10 a.m.

We wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season.
