A Snow Emergency will be in effect in the City of Newton beginning at 12 Noon on Friday, February 8th. All cars must be off the street at this time.
Newton Public School will be closed on Friday, February 8th.
City Hall, and the Newton Free Library will close at 12 Noon on Friday, February 8th. The Newton Senior Center will be closed all day.
Power outages should be reported to NStar at 1-800-592-2000.
Non-emergency issues should be reported to our Customer Service line at 617-796-1000, or submitted online through our 311 reporting system at www.newtonma.gov.
Emergencies, including downed wires, which should be considered live and dangerous, should be reported immediately to 911.
Trash and recycling collection will take place as regularly scheduled on Friday.
Updates will be posted on the city website at www.newtonma.gov.
All town buildings will be closing at 2:00 p.m. The Recycling/Transfer Station (RTS) will be closed at 4:00 p.m.. After 4:00 p.m., all town buildings and facilities (including the Library) will be closed and all scheduled events in all Town or School buildings/properties are cancelled or postponed.
In the event that you lose power, please call NSTAR at 800 592-2000 and report your outage each day you are without power.
The DPW Offices will be available to answer telephone calls Friday 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Sunday 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Call 781- 455-7550, Press 2 and then Press 1.
