Covarrubias is the chief executive officer of Jewish Family Service of Metrowest, an organization that provides vital social, health and human services to over 5,000 people in need every year throughout Greater Boston and MetroWest. During the covid pandemic, the organization has stepped up to provide food deliveries, wellness checks and help ensure access to benefits. The Framingham resident’s entire career has been dedicated to service. Following graduation from the U.S. Naval Academy, Covarrubias served for 20 years in the United States Navy before retiring in 2008. He then joined the JFS staff as the chief operating officer before transitioning to the role of CEO in 2020. He also holds an M.S. in civil engineering from the University of Massachusetts in Lowell and an M.B.A. from Babson College.
